Launched in 2007, the Best Employers for New Canadianscompetition is managed by the editors of Canada's Top 100 Employers in partnership with ALLIES, a joint initiative of theThe Maytree Foundation and The J.W. McConnell Family Foundation, two foundations with long histories of strengthening Canadian communities. Although majority of companies on this list are located in Ontario, there are many companies which have either Head Quarters (VCH, BC Hydro, etc)  or branches in BC (all banks, for example).
