BCITP Net is launching a new pilot program – BC Connector. Ten internationally skilled accountants will be provided with three professional connections in the accounting field. Connectors are local professionals with or without accounting certification but who have more than five years of experience working as accountants/payroll administrators in Canadian companies.

How the program works:

- An immigrant will be provided contact information of three Connectors

- An immigrant contacts Connectors and set up meetings with them

- Each Connector will have an informal one-hour meeting with an immigrant to assist in his/her job search process, i.e. provides feedback on resume, discusses industry’s trends, suggests potential job leads and provides three more connections in the field

- An immigrant will contact the next round of Connectors and meet with them

- After 4 rounds, an immigrant will have over 80 professional connections in the field

Who can apply:

- Internationally trained accountants who are unemployment and/or underemployed

- Internationally trained accountants who are able to demonstrate at least Level 7-8 of the Canadian English Benchmark (See Can-Do Checklist 7-8)
